How to Prepare

Discontinue any aspirin or NSAIDs (ibuprofen, advil, motrin, naproxen, or aleve) for 1 week prior to your vasectomy. You may use acetaminophen (Tylenol) as a pain reliever in this week.
Shave the front of the scrotum on the morning of your vasectomy.
Bring a pair of tight fitting underwear (briefs or an athletic supporter) to use after the procedure.
Prepare two ice packs at home for use after the vasectomy. Bags of frozen peas work well.
Have a normal breakfast or lunch prior to your procedure.
Take 1000mg of acetaminophen (2 tablets of extra strength Tylenol) 2 hours prior to your procedure.
Bring your favorite music and headphones for your smartphone.
Relax. The procedure will be much easier than you are expecting.
